
Prof. Dr. Erich Hübl
Prof. Dr. Erich Hübl was born in Petzenkirchen (Lower Austria) on September 9th 1930. He graduated in ecology, sociology and physiology of plants at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Vienna, and received his PhD at the University of Vienna on the topic of forest vegetation of the Leithagebirge (Lower Austria and Burgenland). Until his retirement he worked as a professor at the Department of Botany, University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna. He is engaged in the scientific work in the field of phytosociology, floristics and nature conservation, especially in phytosociology, phytogeography and ecology of meadow and forest vegetation and some time ago flora of medieval castles of Lower Austria (edited by Zoologisch-Botanische Gesellschaft Österreich). His latest project is a flora of the castles of Luxemburg. He has been a member of the Society since the foundation of the society. He organised the meeting in Vienna 1997 together with Prof. Zukrigl.
